96 Tears — ? and the Mysterians, 1966

Another very sixties tune… this one with a hint of early punk, perhaps.

The Eels - Prizefighter

I don’t listen to The Eels much anymore but love this fuzzboxed and all distorted Prizefighter.

Band of Horses - The First Song.

The snowing in cover,
do you recover from those?

And Christmas time’s coming
and over approaching
we’ve been drinking for long.

As Christmas time goes
I’m coming over
coming from
you’re already gone.

I’m wrapping up
the presents
I bought.

It seemed appropriate to kick off an indie music Holiday season with “The First Song.”

Oh, gracious, I do love me some Band of Horses.

Klaxons - It’s Not Over Yet

I DON’T THINK WE’RE VERY GOOD AT BEING TRENDY.

Two Door Cinema Club - Do You Want It All?

WHY STOP NOW, WE HAVE A LOVELY TREND HERE.

Two Door Cinema Club - Undercover Martyn

WELL IT APPEARS TO BE A TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB KIND OF DAY.

Two Door Cinema Club - ‘Too Much Coffee’ Live @ Radar

PERHAPS IT IS MORE OF A TWO DOOR CINEMA CLUB KIND OF DAY.

Two Door Cinema Club - What You Want

OKAY THIS IS NOT REALLY NEW BUT WHO CARES.

Fuck Buttons - Flight of the Feathered Serpent

Prepare for tinnitus. Set volume: 11. Engage hearing damage.

Looks like it’s time to dust off my favorite last.fm tag ever.

Fever Ray, “When I Grow Up”

This song is taken from the self-titled album, and is really indicative of the feel of the album. I got lucky and found a copy of this relatively soon after it came out- I’ve been able to listen to it for a while now, and love it as it needs to be loved. I’ll probably post the most popular song off of that album, “If I Had A Heart”, and maybe, if you’re lucky, links to 1) the Fuck Buttons remix and 2) a mystery one. :)
